Dagger thrust into my heart

I had wanted to tell my best friend how utterly miserable I was feeling hence the need to go on a trip. I was trying to look for a rebound but what I found was more of a second rejection for me. What else did I need to know? I wish this year would end quickly for it has only brought me heartache, the kind that only heals after a long, long time.
